Meta launched Meta One on September 15, 2026, adding paid subscription tiers to Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI. The service targets individuals, creators and businesses, with more than 50 features spread across the four applications.
The main experience of each application and Meta AI will remain free, according to Meta. Meta One therefore adds paid layers around existing services instead of replacing their free core. The rollout is progressive, and availability is described as worldwide, although features, prices and eligibility can vary by region, application and account.
Individual plans add customisation and heavier AI use
Individual subscribers can choose Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus or WhatsApp Plus. Instagram Plus costs €2.99 per month and includes custom fonts for direct messages and Stories, notifications when someone views a Story, and previews of direct messages. Facebook Plus is also listed at €2.99 per month. It adds Messenger customisation, more Reels insights and super reactions on Reels and Feed posts.
WhatsApp Plus costs €2.49 per month. Meta says the plan is set to test chat and media backup storage, as well as Focus Schedules. The wording matters: these features are presented as tests rather than as a uniformly available benefit for every subscriber.
Meta also offers Core and Premium bundles. Both combine the features of the individual products with increased access to compute-intensive AI capabilities, including more image creation and editing and video generation through Meta AI and the Muse models. The bundles also provide more access to Instagram's Restyle tool. Core costs €6.99 per month, while Premium costs €20.99.
In its announcement, Meta says it has recorded 15 million subscriptions and trials so far. During its early tests, more than half of subscribers used both AI features and expression features. Meta identifies Restyle and Instagram voice effects among the leading subscription drivers it observed. These figures describe Meta's own tests and reporting, so they indicate the company's early results rather than an independent measure of demand.
Creator and business tiers stay inside existing apps
Creator and business plans do not require a new account or application. They add an enhanced profile that can display a website, business locations and what users say about the account. The offers also include more prominent Follow buttons on Reels and automatic invitations for people who interact with a page's content to follow it.
The entry-level Essential plan starts at €16.99 per month. It includes a verified badge, a verified channel in the WhatsApp Business app and impersonation protection, subject to successful verification. Essential also provides more access to Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp for round-the-clock customer responses.
Advanced starts at €54.99 per month and adds Story scheduling up to 30 days ahead, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights and team access without password sharing. Expert costs €169 per month, while Max costs €549. Meta positions both as its highest access levels for teams operating at scale, including the highest Meta Business Agent capacity.
Meta plans to bring Edits Plus to Meta One soon. The addition is expected to provide more cloud storage for syncing projects across devices and greater access to a future Edits assistant that will analyse Instagram insights and suggest ideas. Meta also says it plans to extend Meta One gradually to Edits, AI glasses and other products.
What changes for users
The immediate change is a choice between free core access and paid features covering customisation, creator tools, business controls and higher AI usage. That makes Meta One relevant to different groups for different reasons: individual users may want expression features or more AI capacity, while creators and businesses may value profile controls, analytics, verification and team workflows.
The compromise is that no single tier has the same value for every account. The applicable price, feature set and eligibility depend on the specific application, region and account, and some additions remain part of a progressive rollout. Meta One expands the paid layer around its existing services, but the free core experience remains in place.
